Questions, answered – and a direct line to Lisa.
Most engagements begin with a discovery conversation. Here’s what people most often want to know first.
What is the length of time you work with clients?
I have had several coaching clients for more than 6 years, and several consultations that last 2–4 years. Likewise, I can coach for 3 sessions, consult for a month, or facilitate one or a series of workshops.
How do you know if you and a client are a good fit?
I always have a ‘discovery’ conversation with a client — no matter what service the client wants. This conversation determines if the client would like to work with me and me with the client. There is no charge for this initial conversation.
What kind of training do you have for coaching?
Gestalt coaching focuses on the whole person rather than simply the intellect. Gestalt has a record of effective results for people in transition or experiencing conflict. I teach in the Gestalt coach training program, which is International Coaching Federation accredited. Added training on my part includes neuroscience, team, and trauma coaching (also ICF or EMCC accredited).
Who is your main audience?
As a coach, I work primarily with teams and individuals in non-profits, religious organizations (mostly Jewish and Christian),sometimes with spiritual but not religiously-affiliated groups/persons), and small businesses. As a consultant, I focus on systems within these areas, with scenario-building, conflict management, or strategic direction work. I also coach privately with persons who are in life-transition.
What does a workshop entail?
Content of my workshops tends to be tailored to the client’s needs. I use various tools for communication improvement, conflict management, mediation, and leadership development, informed by neuroscience. Workshops usually last 2–3 hours with information-sharing and practical application. A series of workshops can be designed for ongoing learning and additional reflection time. My specialty is use of conflict tools and mindset pivoting.
Why do you do this work?
After decades of teaching, I wanted to get into the field beyond academia. Coaching and consulting increasingly supplemented my teaching while serving as a full-time faculty member, so I had the knowledge and tools to serve in the wider world as of 2019. My stance is that I am always in service to the client. The work in intensely satisfying!
What do your services cost?
I will have an initial conversation with you for the service of choice, which is part of the discovery call. At that point, we will determine together what you are looking for, length of the engagement, and capacity for investment. I tailor my prices to the person/group/team and the situation. Coaching services for individuals are sliding scale and payable as negotiated. for consulting, I will submit a Proposal for Work for your consideration. All services are accompanied by a contractual agreement.
What words of wisdom do you have for leaders?
Know your gifts, energy, and capacities; embrace conflict as opportunity as long as there is no harm caused; and pivot from fear to adventure. Then the whole world opens up.
